The Pepper Pot
The Pepper Pot is a neoclassical designed tower built in 1830 by Charles Barry, in the grounds of a now demolished villa near Queen's Park , Brighton.
Intriguingly its original purpose is unknown. A recent research suggests that the tower stood above a well and housed a steam engine which drew the water out.
The building, 20m tall, has been used to print and pubblish the local newspaper "The Brighton Daily Mail" , as an observation post by the Army during World War II , headquarter of a Scout troop, artist's studio and even as a public toilet in the 60s.
